Sardinia is a true earthly paradise for lovers of active tourism, from the many hiking trails to horse riding, from climbing to cycling, to water sports like surfing, the kite, the sup, diving, snorkeling, but also kayaking, you’ll be spoiled for choice.
Today we are featuring one of the most favorite spot by the younger, La Marinedda beach, at Isola Rossa, in the so-called Costa Rossa, Trinita d’Agultu, northwest Sardinia.
It is a onion-shaped cove, with white sand and surrounded by red rocks, in a still wild location, overlooking a sea of innumerable shades of blue. When the Mistral blows, this place turns into a big playground for all the surfers of the island. In La Marinedda beach, every year, in August it takes place the Frozen Open (this year the waiting period is between August 15 and September 15 ), big surf contest, now in its 12th edition, which acquired internationally renowned. Anyway, it is hard to find such beautiful waves in the Mediterranean.
Also in summer, they are also organized courses and camp to learn all the secrets of the surfboard and the sea, but not only: like a small California in Sardinia, in front of the beach it is assembled a large wooden bowl for all the skate lovers, boards that run on the wood and boards that run to the sea: this is La Marinedda for young people!
And just with the Skate Rock Ink, including skateboarding, much rock music, tattoos and a barbecue on the beach, next Saturday, July 25 will start the season of events of La Marinedda, which will be hot as much as the heat wave that is affecting Sardinia from the beginning of summer!
